Patrons, sponsors and guests enjoy viewing beautiful art, from exceptional equine oil paintings to captivating watercolors of Chester County during First Night at Devon. Held the night before the official opening of the Devon Horse Show & Country Fair, the grounds are abuzz with horses and riders in the practice ring and vendors preparing for the next day's opening. Guests of First Night at Devon enjoy cocktails and hors d'oeuvres while being treated to a special preview of the art showcased in the gallery, including the official Devon poster. Most importantly, guests are given the first chance to purchase the beautiful art on display from over fifty well-known regional and national artists.
First Night at Devon has raised over $50,000 for the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair Foundation. The Art Gallery during Devon Week has grossed over $200,000 in sales, with proceeds contributing to Bryn Mawr Hospital.
