Despite the inclement weather this year, 500 guests enjoyed five distinctive private residences, a vendor boutique home and a lovely lunch spot during the 2009 Fall Festival of Homes. With a mix of styles and spaces from newly built to heritage, cozy to spacious, bold to subdued and classic to modern, everyone found features in this year's array of homes appealing. Guests were energized and inspired by the creative decorating, ambiance and special entertaining ideas displayed in all of the homes featured on this year's House Tour.
Six local award-winning florists along with five notable caterers helped homeowners provide friendly hospitality for House Tour guests. We thank them for their dedication to making this event a special one and their contributions to the cause it supports.
A special thank you is extended to our gracious sponsors: Pohlig Builders for providing boxed lunches and a warm welcome at the Clubhouse at Athertyn. as well as Trull Building, Nierman Marcus, Kiehl's, Texada Landscaping, and International Wellness Center.
The Fall Festival of Homes Committee would also like to thank the homeowners who put their homes on the tour, the volunteers who gave their time, and all who attended the tour.
The participation of all involved in the endeavor ensured the success of the tour. The proceeds will contribute to the Devon Horse Show and Country Fair's annual donation to Bryn Mawr Hospital, helping them further their mission of being not only a top community hospital, but one of the best in the country.
